What We Need - Position Description
Improving the efficiency of the built environment is an essential strategy for achieving emission reduction goals, managing housing and utility costs, and creating healthy facilities with improved indoor air quality. The Southeast Energy Efficiency Alliance (SEEA) seeks qualified candidates to plan and implement clean energy programs and projects in the SE. This position will build and manage programs to improve new and existing building stock, engage members and support equitable distribution of resources across the region.
The senior program manager collaboratively oversees a portfolio of projects, leads cross-functional teams, engages stakeholders, and helps secure project funding. This position will provide subject matter expertise across the organization and ensure alignment with SEEA's mission and goals.
Reporting to the Director of Technology and Market Solutions, this role supports initiatives including, but not limited to, building energy codes, market transformation programs, and workforce development efforts while contributing to SEEA's cross-functional work. This position will build partnerships with state and local governments, nonprofits, academia, businesses, and utilities to support SEEA's work across 12 states and five U.S. territories.

Responsibilities of this role may include but are not limited to:
Lead strategic planning and execution across program areas Manage projects and monitor deliverables, budgets, and timelines Facilitate team collaboration and maintain partner trust Serve as internal and external expert Represent SEEA externally and guide innovation Develop stakeholder engagement strategies Support member recruitment and convenings Lead proposal development and funder relationships Supervise small internal team, provide direction and feedback Who You Are
Qualifications
SEEA's staff has a range of skills, expertise and abilities and we want to grow to include yours! We are seeking candidates who are looking to grow in the clean energy sector in the Southeast.
Bachelor's or advanced degree, preferably in engineering, energy, sustainability, or related field. A minimum of seven years of related experience with working knowledge of the built environment, local and state government, energy efficiency, or sustainability industries with demonstrated program leadership. Experience managing a portfolio of projects and programs with proven success in meeting deadlines and adapting to shifting priorities. Plus if the candidate has created or raised funds to support programs. Experience developing and implementing strategic and tactical plans. Deeply value equity and are committed to learning how to effectively advance conversations about diversity, equity, and inclusion in the energy sector. Experience managing teams, contractors, and vendors. Experience developing project/program concepts and creating successful funding proposals/grant applications. Classification & Compensation
This is a full-time, exempt salaried position. This position is based in Atlanta, Georgia, and will require occasional travel. SEEA's current hybrid work schedule requires a minimum of two in-office workdays per week.
We offer a competitive compensation package commensurate with experience. The minimum salary for this position starts at $82,900.
