Senior Atlassian Jira Solutions Architect - Platform Governance & Modernization Position Summary:
Seeking an experienced Senior Atlassian Jira Solutions Architect to lead the governance and modernization of the enterprise Jira Cloud platform. Key Responsibilities: Platform Architecture & Strategy
Architect target state roadmap for enterprise Jira Cloud platform supporting 140+ projects and 99% of development teams Design standardized governance frameworks and workflow simplification strategies Manage dual-platform strategy coordinating production instance optimization with clean-slate Catalyst instance development Establish comprehensive platform capability messaging and communication strategies Governance & Standardization
Lead platform cleanup initiatives including custom field rationalization, status consolidation, and team structure standardization Design and implement tagging standards and advanced reporting capabilities beyond current fixed-version limitations Create cross-functional workflows spanning Jira Software and Jira Service Management Develop policies and procedures for consistent platform usage across all development teams Automation & AI Integration
Design AI governance frameworks and ROVO AI agent controls to prevent unauthorized automation Build intelligent workflow automation using ROVO AI capabilities Establish automation standards and best practices for enterprise-scale deployment Create safeguards against rogue agent deployment while enabling innovation Integration & Access Management
Develop automated access management systems integrating with Okta and ServiceNow approval pipelines Build security group automation to eliminate manual user provisioning Establish integration standards for GitHub, ChangeMan, and MDCMS Address backup synchronization and data retention compliance requirements Required Qualifications: Technical Expertise
8+ years of enterprise Atlassian platform administration experience Deep expertise in Jira Cloud Enterprise architecture, complex workflow design, and permission scheme optimization Proven experience with ROVO AI implementation and intelligent automation agent development Strong background in identity management integration including Okta, ServiceNow, and automated provisioning systems Leadership & Strategy
Proven track record architecting governance frameworks for large-scale development organizations (140+ projects) Experience leading Jira migrations, consolidations, and enterprise-wide standardization initiatives Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional teams and present technical solutions to senior executives Strong change management experience for platform standardization efforts Communication & Independence
Self-directed execution capability with confidence to make independent decisions Ability to challenge existing processes and build consensus around new governance standards Outstanding stakeholder management and communication skills Experience translating technical concepts into business language for diverse audiences Preferred Qualifications:
Comprehensive understanding of Atlassian ecosystem integration (Jira Software, Jira Service Management, Confluence, Bitbucket) Experience with DevOps tool integration patterns including GitHub and CI/CD pipeline integration Background in enterprise change management systems and compliance frameworks Certification in Atlassian tools and platforms
