Our client, an investment firm, is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join their team in Los Angeles, CA!

Responsibilities:

Evaluate and improve existing data workflows, architectures and systems to optimize data quality while increasing efficiency and performance. Lead discussions around business requirements, data needs, and technological capabilities to ensure that solutions meet both present and future needs. Analyze data to test theories and further the development of the data models and pipelines. Prototype solutions in analytics tools to help users interact with and test solutions. Ensure that models are aligned with business requirements and that they meet future data demands. Provide thought leadership on best practices in data modeling, and work to create scalable, efficient data models that support business objectives. Diagnose data issues, perform in-depth data analysis, and collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement solutions. Identify and analyze atypical data outcomes, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions. Develop strong partnerships with internal teams to uncover and define new data sources and structures that will support business growth. Ensure all data models, processes, and requirements are clearly documented, and that timelines and milestones are properly established and adhered to.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in information systems, Finance, or other relevant discipline. 5+ years relevant experience, preferably in the financial services industry. Experience with business analysis tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, MS Visio, Excel), database/querying tools (e.g., SQL). Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI). Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure) and their data services. Strong and proven oral and written communication skills. A team player who works well with functional and technical resources. Expertise in SQL, Python and analytics tools (PowerBI, Tableau, Qlik). Ability to manage and prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment, ensuring milestones and timelines are met. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, culturally diverse environment and quickly learn new technologies.
