Job Description
General Description: Northern Virginia Community College is spearheading a collaborative initiative across multiple jurisdictions to enhance workforce and college access for high school students. This effort includes academic and career awareness preparation while offering college credit. The Program Coordinator provides leadership and support for a 1.5-year, grant-funded project aimed at developing an innovative program to expand access to dual enrollment courses. This program will allow current high school students in the region to gain career development skills while participating in quality work-based learning. The Program Coordinator will recruit regional employer partners who will provide program specific work-based learning opportunities.
Duties and Tasks: Develop and maintain engagement with leaders in businesses, community-based non-profits, government agencies, and other relevant groups in collaboration with K-12 partners. Manage a project team that includes curriculum development, faculty and employer outreach, and student coordination. Direct the planning and implementation of activities in the region, and will be responsible for data collection, analysis, and grant management with the goal of establishing a model framework that can be scaled and replicated across jurisdictions. Make regular requests from employees for updates and input on college decisions and share feedback with supervisors for inclusion in the NOVA Brief. *This position is restricted and is funded with non-continuous or non-recurring funding and is subject to continuation based on fiscal year funds and the needs of the College.

May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.

KSAs:
Knowledge of academic planning for secondary or higher education. Knowledge of early career and student development as impacted by work-based learning experiences. Skill in written communication, including the development of strategic plans, presentations, guides, and internal and external communications. Skill in oral communication, including large and small group presentations and/or class lectures. Ability to independently plan and manage programs and projects. Ability to maintain a professional demeanor respectful of diversity and multiculturalism. Proficiently skilled in computer usage, including Navigate Student Information System, or career management systems Minimum Work Experience:
Experience with business and workforce engagement related to developing early talent. Experience in high school or college advising related to work-based learning. Experience in project or grant management. Experience with data collection, analysis, and reporting. Additional Considerations
