This role is a unique opportunity for an experienced leader to oversee and advance perioperative services. The Director of Perioperative Services will be responsible for strategic planning, budget management, operational oversight, and quality assurance within surgical and procedural care areas. These include the Operating Room (OR), Same-Day Surgery (SDS), Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), Endoscopy, Pre-Admission Testing (PAT), and Sterile Processing. The position is pivotal in ensuring patient safety, satisfaction, and adherence to regulatory standards while fostering collaboration across departments and with the medical staff. The successful candidate will model excellence, integrate services across facilities, and lead initiatives that align with organizational goals, leveraging technology and innovation to drive results.
Responsibilities Operational Leadership:
Manage surgical services, ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines (e.g., DOH, JCAHO, AORN, APSAN). Promote quality patient care, efficiency, and safety through evidence-based practices. Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic initiatives aimed at improving outcomes, service delivery, and market share. Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to enhance service quality. Collaboration & Integration:
Work closely with surgeons, nursing staff, and administrative teams to optimize processes and achieve organizational objectives. Act as a key liaison between perioperative services and senior leadership. Financial Management:
Oversee budgets, staffing, and resource allocation. Drive cost-effective operations while maintaining high-quality standards. Program Development:
Lead initiatives to improve perioperative services through innovation, data analysis, and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. Compliance & Representation:
Serve as a representative for the service line on interdisciplinary committees. Uphold the organization's mission, vision, and values in all professional interactions.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Nursing and a Master's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Business, or a related field are both required.
Licensure & Certification:
Active RN license is required. CNOR certification or willingness to obtain within six months of hire. Experience:
At least five years of progressive management experience in perioperative services. Minimum of 2 years of progressive experience in healthcare administration with increasing level of administrative responsibility RN experience with scrubbing/circulatory would be best Must be within a 30 minute radius while on-call Proven expertise in staffing, budgeting, and financial management. Skills:
Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite. Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
