Verition Fund Management LLC ("Verition") is a multi-strategy, multi-manager hedge fund founded in 2008. Verition focuses on global investment strategies including Global Credit, Global Convertible, Volatility & Capital Structure Arbitrage, Event-Driven Investing, Equity Long/Short & Capital Markets Trading, and Global Quantitative Trading.

We are seeking a highly experienced Technology Lead to spearhead the design and implementation of our internal matching engine and Algo Wheel. This role is central to developing a cohesive execution platform that internalizes flow when appropriate, accesses external liquidity efficiently, and ensures best execution.

Responsibilities :

Lead the architecture, design, and development of a low-latency internal matching engine. Build and manage an internal crossing system that seamlessly integrates with OMS/EMS and execution workflows. Collaborate with traders, quantitative researchers, and compliance to define technical requirements. Integrate the platform with internal OMS/EMS and broker APIs using industry protocols (e.g., FIX). Monitor and optimize execution performance, latency, and fill quality through advanced analytics and feedback loops. Ensure high reliability, fault tolerance, and regulatory compliance across all components. Provide technical leadership across engineering teams, including mentoring, code review, and roadmap planning. Qualifications:

8+ years of experience in trading systems development, with direct experience in execution engines and/or smart order routing. Deep understanding of internalization, broker routing logic, and order matching systems. Strong programming skills in low-latency languages such as C++ or Java, with a focus on performance optimization. Proven experience designing and delivering smart order routers and high-throughput execution platforms. Expertise in FIX protocol. Excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to drive cross-functional initiatives in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Skills:

Experience in a buyside or proprietary trading environment. Familiarity with FlexTrade OMS. Exposure to algorithmic trading systems and TCA (transaction cost analysis).

Salary Range

$150,000-$200,000 USD
