The ideal candidate will be responsible for defining and implementing the organization's data strategy and architecture, with a particular focus on geospatial data management and integration. This position requires an active Secret Clearance.

Position Description:
The Data Architect will lead the design, development, deployment, and maintenance of the organization's data architecture, ensuring optimal data delivery and integration.
Key responsibilities include:
Design and implement comprehensive data strategies and architectures
Develop data models, database designs, and data integration patterns
Create and maintain data governance frameworks and standards
Lead data migration efforts and integration projects
Design scalable and efficient database solutions
Establish data quality standards and metrics
Provide technical leadership in data architecture decisions
Collaborate with development teams to ensure proper data handling
Create and maintain documentation for data structures and flows
Implement data security and compliance measures
Optimize database performance and scalability
Support geospatial data management initiatives
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (Master's preferred)
8+ years of experience in data architecture or related field
5+ years of experience with enterprise data modeling and database design
Proven experience leading large-scale data initiatives
Strong background in geospatial data management
Required Skills and Competencies:
Expert knowledge of data architecture principles and methodologies
Proficiency in data modeling tools and techniques
Relational database management systems (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL)
Data warehousing concepts and technologies
ETL tools and processes
SQL and database optimization
Data governance frameworks
Geographic Information Systems (GIS), specifically:
Commercial Joint Mapping Toolkit (CJMTK)
ESRI ArcGIS suite components
ArcGIS Server
Spatial database management
Experience with data integration patterns and practices
Knowledge of data security and compliance requirements
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellence in technical documentation
Outstanding communication and leadership abilities
Experience with metadata management
Understanding of enterprise architecture principles
Must be able to work on-site at Stennis Space Center, MS
