Summary
This position will directly manage a team of credit managers and credit analysts that are responsible for monitoring and managing credit limits, determining creditworthiness, facilitating CHS Capital loans and programs, collecting on past due accounts, and continuous improvement initiatives for ag retail.
This is a hybrid position (3 days a week in office) out of our Inver Grove Hights, MN location.
Responsibilities
Lead and develop a team of highly skilled credit staff
Align and structure the team to optimize overall enterprise performance
Provide direct leadership including ongoing mentoring, career development, performance management, goal setting and execution, and credit analysis
Partner with Go-to-Market, Operations and Capital staff to improve credit efficiencies across the enterprise
Analyze credit exposure and establish bad-debt reserves
Monitor a large portfolio and own the collection activity
Provide guidance and support in complex collections across the portfolio
Support the finance transformation to streamline processes and procedures
Develop and implement a Continuous Improvement culture
Improve manual processes
Provide portfolio and industry updates to Senior Management
10% Travel to CHS facilities, customer visits, legal cases, mediations, etc.
Minimum Qualifications (required)
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Ag Business
5+ yrs related work experience
Additional Qualifications
At least 3 years of proven experience leading teams or managing direct reports.
10 years of industry experience in lending, credit, collections and/or agricultural operations
Experience working with legal counsel and complex credits
Advanced skills in credit & cash flow analysis, balance sheet, income statement and tax return analysis
Ability to lead a team through a changing business environment
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
Experience with security filings including but not limited to UCC-1's, statutory crop liens, mortgages
Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
CHS offers a competitive total rewards package. Compensation includes base wage and, depending upon position, may include other earnings such as bonus, incentives and commissions. Actual pay offered will vary based on multiple factors which may include, without limitation, experience, education, training, specialized skills and certifications, minimum wage/salary requirements under local law.
