About the Role:
The role of GIS Network Designer is responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of complex network architecture solutions when it comes to customer installations and records management. The successful candidate will ensure high levels of accuracy and attention to detail in handling spatial data and will assist in other GIS-related tasks as necessary.

Key Responsibilities:
Map Creation and Design: Utilize GIS software to develop detailed maps and layouts for Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) networks, including fiber optic cable routes, splicing points, and network equipment locations.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, construction crews, and project managers to ensure seamless project execution and address any issues that arise.
Record Management: Assist with field inquiries related to splicing or network infrastructure records and update records as necessary. Maintain accurate infrastructure asset records based on as-built documentation from construction crews.
Capacity and Performance Assessment: Collaborate with the GIS Manager and GIS Planning Engineer to evaluate network capacity and performance requirements.
Data Management: Collect, organize, and maintain spatial datasets related to telecommunications infrastructure, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
Visualization and Communication: Create maps and visualizations to effectively communicate spatial information, site locations, and network designs to internal teams and external stakeholders.
Design Review: Assist in reviewing and analyzing High-Level Designs (HLDs) for potential network deployment.
Industry Awareness: Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in network design and GIS technology.
Additional Duties: Perform other related tasks as assigned to support the department's operations and objectives.
Key Qualifications:
High School Diploma, or equivalent education, required
Proven experience in GIS software applications such as ArcGIS, QGIS, or similar
Experience with splicing, outside plant design, or FTTH
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in handling infrastructure data and splicing records
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze and interpret complex geographic information
Good written and verbal communication
Working knowledge of the telecommunication industry, specifically network planning and design
Experience in GIS technology and fiber management solutions
Flexible, team player attitude, with the ability work on all aspects of a given project along with any other tasks beneficial to the company and its growth
Strong attention to detail
Ability to multi-task and manage changing priorities
