Summary of Position

The Controls Software Engineer Supervisor will oversee a team of engineers focused on programming and integrating automation control systems that meet customer requirements, budget, and schedule. This role includes managing team capacity and utilization, ensuring staffing plans align with project demands. Provides leadership and mentorship to support team development and successful project execution. The Supervisor will also maintain a hands-on role in the programming process, ensuring the highest standards of quality and innovation.

Essential Functions Oversee the controls software team on automation projects, ensuring high-quality deliverables and adherence to project specifications and timelines. Collaborate with Controls Project Engineers to define project scope, functional requirements, and customer expectations, aligning the software team accordingly. Partner with the mechanical design team to validate sequence of operations and ensure functionality aligns with software capabilities. Supervise the development and implementation of control programs using platforms such as TIA Portal and RSLogix, ensuring efficient use of Ascent-developed code libraries and best practices. Lead coordination with equipment vendors on controls software integration, interface protocols, and commissioning schedules, maintaining clear and effective communication throughout the project lifecycle. Contribute to the development and refinement of company-wide standards for controls software, promoting consistency, scalability, and quality across projects. Provide strategic recommendations to improve operational metrics and drive efficiencies in the engineering process. Provide strategic input to improve engineering KPIs and streamline the software development process. Required Skills, Education & Experience

Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful job performance will be considered. Typical qualifications would be:

BA or BS degree in Electrical Engineering/Computer Engineering/Computer Science Minimum of 10+ years' experience in control system programming 5+ years' experience leading control system project design 5+ years' experience with integrating servo-controlled motion applications Experience with Aerospace Automated Equipment integration is preferred Working knowledge of TIA Portal & RSLogix Experience in controls software design, with any of the following PLCs: Allen Bradley, Siemens, Delta, Tau, Beckhoff, etc. is a plus Preferred Qualifications

Excellent troubleshooting skills and root cause analysis capabilities Skilled in managing and organizing shared software assets, libraries, and development tools. Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong knowledge of electrical power and distribution systems Strong Computer skills and experience with AutoCAD, Catia, etc. Ability to analyze production specifications and integrate into storyboards, flowcharts, and other methods that help define logic and structure before programming begins Proficient in MS Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Project SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
