Opportunity Summary

An established engineering firm developing mission-critical RF systems for space, defense, and airborne applications is seeking a Test & Automation Engineer to join its growing team. This is a unique opportunity to support the development of next- payload and subsystem technologies by designing and executing sophisticated automated test solutions. In this role, you will work closely with engineering teams to validate RF hardware performance, develop test automation in Python, and support the transition from legacy platforms to modern software environments. The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is ready to take ownership of the full test engineering lifecycle, from concept through deployment.

Job Duties

Design, implement, and maintain automated test systems for RF and microwave hardware

Develop Python-based software for device validation and performance measurement

Work with product and hardware engineers to define test strategies and execution plans

Create and maintain technical documentation, including procedures, test plans, and customer-facing data reports

Analyze and visualize test data using tools such as Tableau or Power BI

Support legacy systems written in LabVIEW and VEE, and migrate them to modern frameworks

Interface with instrumentation including network analyzers, signal generators, oscilloscopes, thermal/vacuum chambers, and RF switch matrices

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field

3+ years of experience in test engineering, automation, or systems validation

Proficiency in Python and familiarity with Windows-based development environments

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Solid written and verbal communication skills

Comfort working with Microsoft Excel and standard technical documentation

Experience

Knowledge of RF testing concepts such as spectral analysis, phase noise, S-parameters, and spurious measurements

Experience with LabVIEW and Keysight VEE

Familiarity with SQL databases and data processing workflows

Hands-on experience with lab instrumentation and automated test development

Exposure to data visualization and reporting tools like Power BI or Tableau

Understanding of software version control and best practices in code development

Compensation Details

$80,000 - $120,000
