We are seeking an experienced
GIS Specialist
with deep expertise in ESRI platform integration and the development of advanced GIS capabilities. In this role, you will lead the integration of internal and external systems with ESRI/GIS platforms, while also building custom features and functions that enhance and extend native GIS capabilities.
This role requires extensive hands-on experience with data flow into and out of GIS systems, and a strong understanding of spatial data architecture and geospatial development best practices. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and implement platform integrations with
ESRI ArcGIS
and related GIS libraries. Extend and customize ESRI features using tools such as
ArcGIS API for JavaScript, ArcPy, and ArcGIS Pro SDK . Create scalable services and tools to support geospatial analysis, data visualization, and spatial data management. Build automated data pipelines to ingest and export geospatial data across enterprise platforms. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and secure data exchange between GIS and other enterprise systems (e.g., ERP, asset management, IoT). Ensure high data integrity and performance in GIS workflows through schema validation, versioning, and topology rules. Document integration architecture, feature designs, workflows, and technical decisions. Troubleshoot and resolve integration and data flow issues across GIS and connected platforms. Required Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geography, Geospatial Sciences, Computer Science, or related field. 5+ years of experience
working with GIS technologies, including
extensive ESRI platform integration . Proven expertise with
ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Pro, ArcPy , and
ArcGIS APIs (REST, JavaScript) . Strong understanding of
geospatial data structures ,
coordinate systems , and
data transformation processes . Experience building and maintaining
bi-directional data flows
between GIS and other systems (e.g., databases, APIs, cloud services). Proficiency in scripting (Python, JavaScript) and working with geospatial formats (Shapefile, GeoJSON, GDB, KML). Familiarity with
data ETL tools ,
SQL databases , and geospatial extensions (e.g., PostGIS, Spatial SQL). Ability to translate complex business needs into technical GIS solutions. Preferred Skills Experience with
cloud-based GIS integrations
(e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP). Knowledge of geospatial standards and interoperability (OGC, WMS/WFS, etc.). Background in asset management, urban planning, environmental monitoring, or similar GIS-intensive domains. Familiarity with Agile software development and DevOps practices.
