Worthington Steel Company seeks Sr. EDI Analyst at its facility located at 1205 Dearborn Dr, Columbus, OH 43085.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Provide recommendations and functional support for EDI, related to Worthington's source systems. Understand what functionality is available as it relates to the current solution deployed. Advise and propose on new solutions, integration, and functionality enhancements. Understand the impact a process change has on the system and guide the process definitions accordingly. Consult with end-users to analyze and understand needs, objectives, desired features, and input/output requirements from EDI trading partners. Provide end-user instruction and support to resolve EDI issues and be responsible for any necessary escalation while retaining ownership of the issue. Assist with evaluation, design, and implementation of functional enhancements along with the implementation of EDI map requirement specifications (MRS changes) working with Worthington's VAN, Covisint. Monitor and document post-implementation problems while maintaining the MRS as needed. Work closely with Worthington's development team for all EDI related system components by actively monitoring and tracking system development requests (SDRs). Recommend and assist in the development of training materials and provide training to new users. Guide users in the implementation of business processes as it relates to EDI. Provide detailed business requirement specifications for developers, process definition outlines and flows, maintain and update application specific documentation. Develop and coordinate implementation plans. Test business and functional processes / quality assurance testing as it relates to EDI. Hybrid telecommuting permitted: 2 days per week in office.
REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, plus 5 years of experience as an EDI Analyst, Software Engineer, Software Analyst, or related occupation. Additionally, the applicant must have employment experience with: (1) Translating business requirements into technical solutions by developing complete Mapping Requirement Specifications (MSR) to comply with X12 /EDIFACT standards for these various transactions EDI ANSI X12 standard documents (810, 812, 820, 824, 830, 850, 855, 856, 860, 861, 862, 867, 870, 997) and EDIFACT Messages (DELINS, DELJIT, DELFOR, INVOIC) according to the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) standards to satisfy trading partners specifications; (2) Developing MRS and configuring Oracle to support Toll processing, utilizing the 870 Order Status to communicate each phase of the production process (PA-production, AO-hold and release, PP-buildup) based on AISI standards; (3) Testing EDI mapping to verify the MRS produces the desired testing results to meet the trading partners specifications; (4) Coordinating with trading partners to establish a connection with VAN utilizing file transfer communication protocols, including AS2, VAN, FTPS, HTTP, HTTPS; (5) Coordinating with trading partners and business partners to perform end-to-end testing, utilizing VAN to exchange EDI, to satisfy testing requirements; (6) Monitoring all EDI file processing and troubleshooting communications, translations, integrations, and application performance issues; (7) Providing support to all EDI production processes; developing and modifying all maps to ensure successful integration of EDI data to internal systems and trading partners' (VAN) Value; and (8) Developing P2P solutions with suppliers using punch-out catalog, leveraging Oracles eCommerce solution (B2B).
