Position Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Software Engineer (Embedded) to join our product development team. This hands-on role will focus on designing, implementing, and maintaining embedded software for our next-generation medical devices. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in bare-metal embedded systems, a collaborative mindset, and a passion for delivering high-quality, regulatory-compliant solutions.
Key Responsibilities • Develop and maintain embedded software for medical devices, including bare-metal systems. • Lead software development activities throughout the product lifecycle-from concept to
release. • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams: mechanical, electrical, and systems
engineering. • Bring up and debug new hardware platforms, ensuring seamless hardware/software
integration. • Prepare and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including design specifications
and code reviews. • Ensure all software complies with applicable medical device regulations and internal quality
standards. • Contribute to a culture of safety and support environmental and quality policies in all
engineering activities.
Required Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a
related field (Master's preferred). • Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in embedded software engineering. • Proficiency in C/C++ and strong understanding of object-oriented design. • Extensive experience with bare-metal development on embedded platforms. • Strong debugging skills and experience bringing up new hardware systems. • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and block diagrams. • Track record of success working in cross-functional development teams through full product
lifecycles. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications • Experience with low-power, battery-operated device development.
Physical Requirements • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods. • Ability to occasionally lift and move objects up to 35 pounds.
Work Eligibility • Applicants must be local to San Diego, CA. • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available for
this position.
Compensation and Benefits • Salary Range: $90,000 - $160,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
