Description of
Service Opportunity:
The CRLS Global Studies Certificate Program Coordinator will include, but is not limited to, the following tasks:
-Manage the website, which includes updating it with student work, global events, new global courses, international opportunities, and application materials.
-Recruit students to join the program through outreach to teachers, students, and parents and CPS media outlets.
-Research for and writing a weekly e-newsletter for the students that includes journalism sources, local events, and global/multicultural opportunities.
-Research and contact guest speakers from across the globe to speak at Global Students Certificate Program monthly meetings.
-Organize and set agendas for the monthly meetings.
-Facilitate 1.5 hours long monthly meetings.
-Read through student program applications.
-Read through student events reflections and international experience journals.
-Field questions from students and parents on an ongoing basis.
-At the end of each term, provide the Dean of Curriculum Social Studies and the CRLS Principal with a formal update on the program.
Minimum Requirements:
Current CRLS Social Studies teacher who has experience with the Global Studies Program.
Length of Contract:
September 1, 2025 through June 30, 2026
Contract Amount:
Not exceed $5760.00
Please note that your hourly rate is dependent upon your collective bargaining agreement or individual hourly rate. If you are a non-exempt employee and have worked more than 40 hours a week, you will be paid time and a half for any hours worked over 40 hours
