PRIMARY PURPOSE: Oversee and assist with various maintenance and operations projects within the school district. Support the planning, coordination, and execution of facilities improvement projects, ensuring all work is completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with district standards and safety regulations. Work closely with district staff, contractors, and vendors to maintain the district's buildings and infrastructure to the highest standards.
QUALIFICATIONS: Education/Certification :
High School Diploma or GED required Bachelor's Degree in a related field (e.g., construction management, facilities management, or engineering) preferred Valid driver's license required
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of building systems, construction processes, and maintenance procedures Knowledge of budget management and cost estimation for maintenance projects Familiarity with local, state, and federal regulations related to building maintenance and construction Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills Ability to read blueprints and schematics Ability to conduct on-site inspections of district facilities Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in project management or facilities maintenance, preferably within a school district or public sector environment Experience managing maintenance projects and coordinating resources MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: Instructional Management
Coordinate with maintenance staff to ensure facilities support the teaching/learning process through timely and effective maintenance projects. Facilitate the appropriate use of technology and equipment in maintaining district facilities to meet operational needs./
School/Organizational Climate
Demonstrate skill in conflict resolution with district staff, contractors, vendors, and community members regarding project-related issues. Respond appropriately to maintenance emergencies that could impair district operations or safety. School/Organizational Improvement
Work cooperatively with district leadership to articulate and support a vision for facilities improvement aligned with district goals. Actively support efforts to maintain and improve district facilities to achieve operational excellence. Use project data to assess progress and ensure alignment with district objectives Personnel Management
Coordinate with maintenance and operations staff to prioritize project work and ensure appropriate resource allocation. Monitor the performance and progress of contractors and vendors to ensure project milestones and quality standards are met. Administration and Fiscal/Facilities Management
Assist with the development and management of project plans for maintenance and facility improvement projects. Coordinate daily operations related to maintenance and construction projects, ensuring timelines and budgets are adhered to. Maintain and update project documentation, including contracts, change orders, schedules, and budgets. Assist with the preparation of Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and bid processes for contractors, services, and materials. Demonstrate responsible fiscal control over assigned project budgets. Ensure proper inventory control and management of materials, tools, and equipment needed for projects. Work to keep district facilities in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as district policies and safety standards. Assist in preparing reports on completed projects and maintenance activities for school district leadership Student Management
Ensure that maintenance projects support a safe and effective learning environment for students. Coordinate resources to minimize disruptions to student activities during project execution School/Community Relations
Communicate project updates, timelines, and impacts to district leadership, staff, and community members as needed. Involve community vendors and contractors in supporting district maintenance goals Professional Growth and Development
Stay informed of current trends and best practices in facilities maintenance and project management. Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge. Use feedback from district leadership to improve performance. Other
Perform duties in a professional, ethical, and responsible manner consistent with district standards. Perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of Maintenance & Operations WORKING CONDITIONS: Mental Demands
Maintain emotional control under stress Work with frequent interruptions Manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively Physical Demands
Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs Frequent walking, standing, and climbing to conduct on-site inspections Occasionally required to work outside in various weather conditions Ability to travel to various district locations as needed Environmental Demands
Work environment includes both office settings and on-site construction environments Full-time position, with occasional evening and weekend hours required to meet project deadlines Normal office environment with occasional exposure to construction site conditions (e.g., noise, dust)
