Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced
NoSQL Database Administrator (DBA)
to support the design, deployment, and maintenance of
NoSQL database clusters
in a
UNIX/Linux
environment. The ideal candidate will bring strong hands-on expertise in
NoSQL platforms
(e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis, CockroachDB, MemSQL) and
UNIX shell scripting , with a focus on automation, performance tuning, and production support in a high-volume environment.
Key Responsibilities: Administer and maintain
NoSQL database clusters
in
Linux environments
across development, QA, and production. Design and automate database deployment and maintenance using
UNIX shell scripting . Debug and tune database performance; optimize operational and CI/CD processes. Support database upgrades, migrations, and capacity planning initiatives. Utilize
DevOps tools
like
BladeLogic
(and ideally
Ansible ) to automate database administration tasks. Provide database access, support schema changes, and ensure role-based security. Collaborate with developers, infrastructure teams, and production support to ensure database availability and efficiency. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues while proactively enhancing database performance and resilience. Required Qualifications:
5+ years
of
UNIX/Linux systems administration
experience. 2+ years
of experience with
NoSQL or SQL database technologies , including administration and operational support. Strong hands-on experience with at least one or more of the following: MongoDB, Cassandra, MemSQL, Redis, CockroachDB, TigerDB
Proficiency in
shell scripting
for automation and maintenance. Experience managing NoSQL clusters, including: Node management, replication, multi-DC setups, performance tuning
Familiarity with
backup/recovery strategies ,
role/access management , and
database monitoring . Strong communication skills; able to explain complex technical concepts to varied stakeholders. Experience in high-volume, enterprise-grade environments is highly preferred. Nice to Have:
Experience with
BladeLogic ,
Ansible , or other DevOps tools. Previous work with
CI/CD environments
and automation of NoSQL deployment pipelines. Required Qualifications:
