About the Role and Company
EC1 Partners is working exclusively with a high-growth FinTech startup that is redefining how U.S. platforms become Payment Facilitators (PayFacs). From onboarding to compliance and embedded payments, their infrastructure enables seamless financial experiences for SaaS businesses. Based in NYC with hybrid flexibility, they're seeking a hands-on Software Engineer to power core features of their PayFac-as-a-Service offering.
What You Will Do
Build APIs to support PayFac onboarding and payment flows Integrate third-party payment processors (Stripe, Adyen, etc.) Collaborate with product and legal teams on compliance Improve transaction speed and reliability Write scalable backend services using Node.js or Go What You Bring
3-5 years experience building payment or financial APIs Familiarity with KYC/KYB, chargebacks, and risk rules Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases and AWS Strong backend fundamentals with an eye for security Bonus: Experience at a PayFac, PSP, or embedded finance firm
