Location: Lake Forest, IL (Hybrid)
Full-Time Permanent Position
About the Role Seeking a hands-on experience - Manager of Cloud Architecture & Engineering to lead our enterprise cloud strategy. You will own the design, implementation and optimization of our AWS-centric environment, working closely with internal teams and managed-service partners to modernize legacy systems and deliver highly available, secure, and cost-effective cloud solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Define & Execute Cloud Strategy:
Own the roadmap for cloud-native transformation and multi-cloud adoption (AWS + Azure). Architect & Design Solutions:
Translate business requirements into repeatable, automated designs (Infrastructure as Code). Vendor & Partner Management:
Lead technical discussions and governance with MSPs, ensuring high-quality delivery. Operational Leadership:
Collaborate with Operations, Security and Business teams to ensure alignment on performance, security, and disaster-recovery. Hands-On Delivery:
Roll up your sleeves to implement IaC, CI/CD pipelines, identity management, and high-availability architectures. Governance & Optimization:
Establish technical and financial controls to monitor usage, costs, and compliance.
Requirements:
Experience:
7+ years designing and delivering enterprise-scale cloud platforms (primarily AWS; some Azure). Technical Expertise:
Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.) Cloud security, identity/access management, disaster recovery CI/CD tooling and automation frameworks Hybrid environments and VMware migrations
Leadership & Influence:
Executive presence to guide vendor partners and cross-functional teams. Mindset:
Solution-oriented, with clear, actionable recommendations. Collaboration:
Comfortable in lean teams and dotted-line reporting structures. Communication:
Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills.
