Mindlance
The Application Analyst will be a member of the Transit Applications Team in the MBTA IT Department. The candidate will be responsible for learning the applications supported, level 2 & 3 user support, minor programming tasks, extensive pre-release testing, and other support tasks for enterprise-wide applications. These include but are not limited to applications that track vehicle repair, including preventive maintenance, warranty, components, and reporting; facilities and Maintenance of Way, including assets such as buildings and subway track; and the application that supports warehouse and stockroom activities
Duties and Responsibilites: • Learn off-the-shelf applications largely via self-study, both from the users' perspectives and the IT perspective • Learn the business process, how it is reflected in the application use, and the supporting database table structure • Write and test reports utilizing Crystal Reports, SQL language, Tableau or other query tools • Work with users to resolve tiers 2 and 3 application or technical problems • Work with users to define business requirements; prepare detailed specifications for requested improvements • Design/implement proof of concept • Implement processes within the application • Produce succinct production documentation or job aide • Perform application testing on enhancements, upgrades, or modification projects • Train users on application functions, features and operations • Troubleshoot and identify root cause analysis for application issues • Interface coding and modifications using APIs, C#, other tools as needed • Understand and triage mobile/tablet issues • Understand and triage warehouse scanner and barcode printer issues
Minimum Experience and Required Skills • Four (4) years of experience in information systems programming • Three (3) years of experience working with relational databases (Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server) • Three (3) years hands-on experience writing SQL queries with multiple tables
