About the job Electronics Technician We are seeking skilled and motivated Electronics Technician candidates to support on-site at Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC), you will provide direct support to Code 34 Imaging and Electronic Warfare (I&EW) Team. Position responsibilities include fabrication, manufacture, testing, installation and maintenance of I&EW Sensors and Antenna Shipsets, repair, assembly, installation and test support for Electronic Warfare Sensors and related special support equipment.Duties and Responsibilities:Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, repair, and assembly of complex I&EW systemsTesting of sub-assemblies and completed systems; Collect Antenna Assembly technical data at the component, subassembly, and assembly levelsConduct receipt inspections and determine serviceability of Fleet-returned assets as well as electrical and mechanical inspections to ensure vendor compliance of received partsConduct Quality Assurance Inspections on new and repaired assemblies as required by directivesAnalyze the collected technical data for conformance to specifications, identify issues, and provide recommendations to resolve any issuesAssembly of Engineering Prototypes including product improvement feedback to engineers, and the completion of drawing redlines, and associated process forms as requiredAssistance in the development of Test ProceduresDevelop program status reports such as technical assessments, risk assessments, technical recommendations or technical informationRequirements/Skills:Technical School Diploma and two years' experience related to the above tasks, or a minimum of 6 years active-duty submarine combat system experience preferably with experience with US Navy Submarine Combat Systems (BYG-1, EW, SONAR, IMAGING, etc.).Tasking requires a strong attention to detail and working knowledge of Microsoft Office SuiteFamiliarity with electronic testing procedures and Standard Test equipmentAbility to learn and apply techniques quickly as part of a team effort, or independently, to develop innovative technical solutionsDocumented completion of soldering and / or fiber-optic termination / connectorization / certification / trainingStrong problem-solving skills and ability to work both independently and in a team environmentStrong documentation and communication skillsUS Citizenship and be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.Additional Skills of Interest: (not required)Active DoD Security clearanceUnderstanding of DoD engineering design practicesKnowledge of EW systems and technology, specifically AN/BLQ-10Experience in VISIO or similar engineering-oriented documentation applications
