Sr. Cloud Network Automation Engineer SME Key Responsibilities

Automation Framework Development: Design, develop, and implement automation workflows using Ansible and Terraform to manage cloud networking resources in Azure and GCP . Create reusable modules, playbooks, and templates to standardize network provisioning, configuration, and monitoring processes. Cloud Networking Architecture: Collaborate with cloud architects to design scalable, secure, and high-performance networking solutions for multi-cloud environmens Automate the deployment and management of Virtual Private Clouds (VPCs), subnets, firewalls, load balancers, DNS, and routing configurations. Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Write and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) scripts to automate the provisioning and lifecycle management of cloud resources. Ensure compliance with company policies, security standards, and industry best practices. CI/CD Integration: Integrate automation tools with CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous delivery of network changes. Implement version control and testing strategies to ensure code quality and reliability. Troubleshooting and Optimization: Monitor and troubleshoot automated workflows to identify and resolve issues quickly. Optimize existing automation processes to improve performance and reduce operational overhead. Collaboration and Mentorship: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including DevOps, security, and application development, to align automation efforts with business goals. Mentor junior engineers and share expertise to build a culture of automation excellence. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive documentation for all automation workflows, scripts, and processes. Provide regular updates and reports on automation progress, challenges, and outcomes.

Required Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master's degree preferred). Experience:

5+ years of experience in cloud automation, with a focus on Azure and GCP environments. Proven expertise in using Ansible and Terraform for automating cloud infrastructure. Hands-on experience with cloud networking concepts such as VPCs, subnets, firewalls, NAT gateways, and load balancers.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in writing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and Ansible. Strong understanding of Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates and GCP Deployment Manager. Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps. Scripting skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell. Knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS) and security best practices.

Certifications (Preferred):

Azure certifications (e.g., AZ-900, AZ-104, AZ-305). Google Cloud certifications (e.g., Professional Cloud Architect, Professional Cloud Network Engineer). HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate.

Desired Qualifications

Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and service mesh architectures. Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or Stackdriver. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
