Austal USA Advanced Technologies (AT) is a division of Austal USA, a global defense prime contractor and a designer and manufacturer of defense and commercial ships.
Austal USA AT works at the forefront to invent, mature, and implement advanced maritime technologies which enhance operational capacities and improve readiness of our defense systems. Austal USA AT operates a technology hub in Charlottesville VA which works to bring cutting-edge manufacturing technologies to scale and also oversees operation of the U.S. Navy's Additive Manufacturing Center of Excellence (AM COE) located in Danville, VA. The mission of the AM COE is to operationalize additive manufacturing in the submarine industrial base and provide emergent request support to sustain our Nation's fleet.
DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
Act as the escalation point for all Austal USA AT IT requests and incidents. Point of contact for all IT support requests for Danville and Charlottesville employees; requests may include but are not limited to: IT Infrastructure (hardware, software, network, Wi-Fi). Printer management. New software requests. Onboarding & offboarding employees (laptop provisioning, configuration, and decommissioning). Conference room support. Support/helpdesk tickets. Provide installation, setup and troubleshooting of complex issues with IT equipment that supports critical business needs in Charlottesville and Danville, including the management and support of layer 1 IoT at both sites. Manage and support Austal USA AT-dedicated licenses and systems, including: CAD licenses and license servers. User accounts, permissions, policies, and databases for Austal USA AT digital tools (PLM, MES, and others). Act as the liaison between Charlottesville and Danville sites and Austal USA IT team in Mobile; this role will participate in IT department training and champion company-wide implementations and upgrades. Maintain documentation and inventory for servers, hardware, and software deployed at Austal USA AT. Collaborate on the development of Austal USA AT processes and procedures in compliance with QMS requirements to capture use cases and requirements for digital tool architecture.
Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities
QUALIFICATIONS / KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE:
BA/BS in Computer Science or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience. Proof of continued education within the IT environment, preferred. Experience with aspects of IT Infrastructure and Operations is preferred. Five to seven (5-7) years or more of technology experience required along with the ability to multitask and work quickly under pressure. Microsoft, ITIL, or Service Professional certification. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, preferred. Ability to work collaboratively with multiple teams/organizations. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills are required. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to bend, squat, stoop, crawl, and kneel. Must be able to lift/push/pull 50-75 lbs. on an occasional basis. Must be able to lift/push/pull up to 20 lbs. on a frequent basis. Must have the ability to climb in a safe manner (at minimum includes stairs and ramps). DIRECTION EXERCISED: N/A
