Staff Software Engineer
Employer: Demandbase, Inc. Position: Staff Software Engineer Duties: Lead the Integrations team in designing, developing and managing a scalable, microservices-based architecture that seamlessly integrates diverse customer data sources to deliver actionable real-time insights for B2B marketing. Architect and manage solutions that synchronize data with multiple third-party systems like CRM, martech, adtech, salestech. Spearhead the transition from a monolithic platform to a microservices-based ecosystem ensuring extensive coverage through unit, integration, and load testing, ensuring clear documentation and high-quality engineering practices. Drive the evolution of engineering standards, enhance tooling, and establish robust monitoring mechanisms to uphold platform reliability and performance. Serve as a skilled individual contributor for the most critical components of the system. Ensure high operational reliability and strong support across all services and provide technical consultancy to support teams. Collaborate extensively with internal stakeholders, lead research and development (R&D) initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and industry best practices. Education Required: Bachelor's or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Telecommunication, or related field (e.g. Military Science) Experience Required: 7 years of progressive experience in job offered or related occupation Special Requirements: Must have at least 2 years of prior work experience in each of the following: 1. Expert-level knowledge of Scala and ZIO framework, along with deep expertise in JVM ecosystem tools for profiling, analyzing, and optimizing code performance. 2. Integration with different third-party systems including CRMs, advertising and marketing systems, like but not limited to: Microsoft Dynamics, Salesforce, LinkedIn, Oracle Eloqua, Google, Meta, X, Liveramp etc. 3. Leading the design, deployment and maintenance of high-scale microservices architectures in cloud platforms (AWS) utilizing container orchestration with Kubernetes and service mesh technologies. Performance tuning, profiling and monitoring of distributed systems with usage of observability tools like Grafana, Prometheus. 4. Work with messaging system technologies like Apache Pulsar. Proven ability to lead large-scale, mission-critical applications with low latency and high throughput requirements. 5. Designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines with GitLab CI. Advanced skills in scripting with Python, Bash, jsonnet and Scala for complex configuration management. 6.
