Overview American Roll-on Roll-off Carrier, a leading transportation and logistics provider to the US Government, is seeking an experienced (3+ Years) Cyber Security Engineer with strong hands-on implementation experience with NIST 800-171, NIST 800-53 and/or NIST CSF controls. Job Description In this role you will: Be responsible for implementing and maintaining the Companys IT security and compliance requirements. Develop and maintain NIST 800-171 (future CMMC Level-2) POA&Ms, SSPs, and supporting documentation. Collaborate with internal teams and external auditors for compliance reviews and certifications. Understand the Companys technology and processes to evaluate controls and identify risks. Lead compliance and security projects aligned with strategic goals. Create and review IT remediation and contingency plans. Monitor cybersecurity logs and reports to verify security status. Design and implement automated solutions for security incident notifications. Manage control frameworks and documentation supporting security standards. Prioritize tasks and work independently as a reliable self-starter. Job Requirements Required skills/experience: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Cyber/Information Security, or related field. At least 3 years of experience in a corporate IT security role. Hands-on experience with NIST 800-171 and ISO-27001 controls. Experience evaluating controls for technology-driven processes. Proficiency in documenting policies, procedures, and compliance evidence. Strong knowledge of security pillars like perimeter security, identity management, encryption, cloud security, incident response, and vulnerability management. Familiarity with various technologies, OS, databases, and analytics tools. Effective communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences. Excellent project management skills. Eligibility for security clearance. Hybrid work position, within commuting distance to Northern NJ, with occasional domestic travel. Preferred Qualifications: Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, GIAC, or similar. Experience with NIST 800-53, NIST CSF, Fedramp, FISMA, GDPR. Scripting skills (PowerShell, Python, etc.). Experience with container solutions (Docker preferred).
