Software Test Engineer Opportunity

Join our team supporting the Minotaur Mission Processor, a cutting-edge mission management tool that enhances military operations. This role involves testing prototype solutions to address critical operational shortfalls. You'll contribute to research, conceptualization, design, implementation, and evaluation, focusing on improving the exploitation of airborne sensor data. Essential Job Responsibilities: Develops, modifies, applies, and maintains standards for software systems quality operating methods, processes, and procedures. Conducts evaluation of software systems activities including requirements, design, development, documentation, integration, test, verification, and validation. Defines appropriate measures to ensure product quality. Develops overall operating criteria to ensure implementation of the software quality program according to project, process, and contract requirements and objectives. Ensures that projects and process control documentation are compliant with requirements, objectives, and/or contracts. Reviews software systems design, change specifications, and plans against contractual and/or process requirements. Provides or directs verification and validation of software system requirements, traceability, and testability. Job responsibilities can include: Devise and apply testing procedures for both HII's Minotaur product and from outside vendors. Review software requirements and prepare test scenarios. Participate in design reviews and provide input on requirements, product design, and potential problems. Test creation, development, execution, and closure. Analyze test results on database impacts, errors or bugs, and usability. Perform moderately complex analysis and troubleshooting. Design of both manual and automated test procedures. Prepare reports on all aspects related to software testing carried out and reporting to the design team. Support system integration events on various aircraft during ground/flight tests. Potential to fly on aircraft to support system integration, test, and operator training. Willing to travel between 10-20% of the time. Application of the principles, practices, and procedures used in test engineering. Minimum Qualifications: 2 years relevant experience with a Bachelor's in a related field; 0 years experience with a Master's in a related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 6 years relevant experience. 1-2 years experience software testing/development in a Linux command line environment. Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a close team environment. Must be able to obtain and maintain a US level Secret clearance. Preferred Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Software, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline. 0 - 2 years experience in leading test and test automation teams. Network communication protocols (IP, TCP, UDP, etc.). Scripting in Python, Bash, CSH, etc. Agile software development methodology. Active US level Secret clearance. Demonstrated ability to successfully apply educational background to real-world engineering problems. Physical Requirements: Adequate visual acuity and manual dexterity for meeting the requirements of the Software Engineer family.
