This is your chance to become a vital part of our dynamic leadership team while overseeing our 16-bed Pre-Op, 32-bay PACU, and Pre-Admission Testing clinic and call-center supporting both Adult and Pediatric patients. The Assistant Manager of Clinical Operations combines clinical expertise with contemporary leadership practices aligned with the IU Health Way to achieve outstanding clinical outcomes. You will work closely with the unit Manager to develop action plans focusing on quality and safety improvements, cost-effective care, and enhancing patient and team member experiences. You will lead the implementation of these plans and evaluate their effectiveness. In addition, you will assist with scheduling, including developing and managing daily schedules and call schedules to ensure adequate staffing coverage. You will be responsible for effective timekeeping and holding team members accountable for their effectiveness and performance, promoting a productive and efficient work environment. As a key member of the interprofessional team, you will partner with the Manager to foster an environment that empowers the team to excel in both patient and organizational outcomes. This role also involves advancing nursing practice by advocating for and modeling evidence-based practices and professional nursing standards. Note that the unit operates 24/7, including weekends and holidays.
Qualifications:
Graduate of accredited school of nursing. Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree required. 5+ years of RN experience preferred. PACU experience preferred. Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license. Required Basic Life Support certification through the AHA. Specialty certification related to nursing practice or leadership is preferred. Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
