Computer Technician

Hendrix College is seeking a full-time, 12-month administrative staff position. Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, the Computer Technician assists the Technical Services Manager in providing computer and related hardware technical support functions to Hendrix community members in a customer focused environment.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist Technical Services Manager in providing a high level of customer service and support as it relates to responding to service requests. Supervises Student Technicians as assigned by Technical Services Manager Perform computer and related hardware technical support functions including, setup, repair and troubleshooting, and removal. Assist in basic wired and wireless network troubleshooting. OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

Basic cybersecurity remediation (malware removal) under direction of Technical Services Manager Other duties as assigned POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education: High school diploma and/or relevant years of experience is required.

Experience: Previous related experience will be given preference.

Skills: Must be self-motivated and able to work on setups without direct supervision. Requires walking, stooping, climbing, and lifting heavy equipment and materials. Ability to read, write and

follow oral and written instructions is required. Other essential skills:

Walking, stopping and climbing for long periods of time, and lifting of objects weighing more than 25-50 pounds. (75%) Management skills (15%) Replacing motherboards, memory upgrades, etc. (10%) Ability to withstand extreme heat/cold weather Ability to work on weekends Must be dependable, punctual and have a good attendance record Must possess a valid driver's license.
