Title-Sr. DevOps Engineer
Location-Onsite - HIGHLY PREFERRED FOR THEM TO BE IN FORT LAUDERDALE, FL 4 DAYS PER WEEK. I will look at candidates in White Plains NY and Irving TX but really would prefer Fort Lauderdale FL.

The primary responsibility of this Senior Engineer role is designing and implementing AutoNation's software delivery pipeline and ensuring the availability and uptime of AutoNation's platform and services. This includes version control management, build automation, test orchestration automation, infrastructure-as-code, configuration management automation, deployment automation, and other relevant operational support activities. This role will also be key to helping architect and develop the AutoNation platform as a whole and will help set the foundation for future AutoNation software architecture and delivery.
The applicant must be adept at working in a dynamic environment, creating and following best practices. Candidate must also be a self-learner with the ability to absorb new and emerging technologies quickly. The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience in architecting complex platform services in a hybrid enterprise level, including experience with building Developer portals, instrumenting cross-platform monitoring and logging integrations, and working with large-scale infrastructure design and implementation.
Organizational Relationships: This role reports directly to the Director of DevOps for operational needs and the DevOps Lead for technical direction. As a member of AutoNation's DevOps team, the role also requires frequent interaction with most of the IT teams, including Application Development, QA, PMO, Security, Network Engineering, and Infrastructure Engineering.

Develop and implement solutions using industry standards and patterns to promote consistency, efficiency and risk reductions across AutoNation's data enterprise. Design, implement, and manage scalable
CI/CD pipelines
using
Git ,
Azure DevOps , and related tools. Automate infrastructure provisioning and management across
AWS ,
Azure , and on-prem environments using
Terraform ,
CloudFormation , and scripting tools. Deploy, scale, and monitor containerized applications using
Kubernetes
and
Docker . Write and maintain scripts in
Bash ,
PowerShell , and optionally
Python
for automation and tooling. Implement robust monitoring and alerting using enterprise tools such as
CloudWatch ,
Azure Monitor ,
AppDynamics, Prometheus ,
Grafana , or similar. Maintain high system availability, performance, and security across hybrid environments. Participate in on-call rotation and support production deployments and incident resolution. Provide mentorship and technical leadership to junior and mid-level DevOps engineers, fostering growth in automation, cloud infrastructure, and CI/CD practices. Continuously improve DevOps processes and advocate for infrastructure best practices. Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams to build self-service DevOps capabilities.
Required Qualifications
5+ years of experience in
DevOps, Site Reliability, or Platform Engineering . Strong hands-on experience with
AWS and/or Azure , plus exposure to
on-prem infrastructure . Proven expertise in
CI/CD pipelines , preferably with
Azure DevOps , GitHub, or similar. Experience using
Terraform
and
CloudFormation
for infrastructure automation. Having AWS CDK is a plus. Proficiency in scripting languages including
Bash
and
PowerShell . Solid understanding and hands-on experience with
Kubernetes ,
Docker , and container lifecycle management. Expertise with
monitoring ,
logging , and
alerting tools
in both cloud and on-prem contexts. Expertise in troubleshooting full stack implementations from client to backend systems using client-side tools, APMs, network monitoring tools and log parsers Bachelor's degree in technology or equivalent job experience preferred. Microsoft MCSE and/or AWS certification preferred.
