Role Overview:
The Systems Engineer will play a critical role in supporting high-energy laser (HEL) programs, with a focus on system assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and deployment in real-world environments. This position requires a hands-on, highly organized self-starter with expertise in system interconnects, fluid systems, and high-power electrical assemblies. The selected candidate will collaborate closely with engineering teams, field operators, and end users to ensure seamless integration and operation of IPG's laser systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide
technical leadership
in program execution, focusing on field deployments, prototype development, and assembly. Lead
system integration efforts , ensuring seamless connectivity of electrical, mechanical, and fluid components. Assemble, test, and troubleshoot
low-power data harnesses, high-power electrical wiring, and system interconnects. Develop and validate
fluid systems , including AN hoses and compression fittings, with experience in closed-loop systems preferred. Support
deployment of high-energy laser systems
in testing environments, including government ranges. Assist in
system maintenance and operation , ensuring reliability and performance in field applications. Capture and document
system requirements , particularly in interconnects, electrical, and fluid subsystems. Represent IPG's high-energy laser products to
end users , providing technical expertise and support as needed. Maintain
rigorous documentation and testing protocols
to support system validation and troubleshooting. Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with
high-energy laser products and defense-related programs . Familiarity with
government testing environments
and field deployment logistics. Strong background in
systems engineering principles , including integration, validation, and troubleshooting.
