Medical Director of Primary Care Services
for a respected community health organization in
Providence, RI . This is a pivotal leadership opportunity to help shape the future of accessible healthcare in one of New England's most dedicated and impactful healthcare systems. About the Role:
As the Medical Director of Primary Care Services, you will work closely with the Chief Medical Officer to lead clinical strategy, quality improvement initiatives, and clinician engagement. You'll oversee a network of primary care providers while also maintaining a small clinical caseload (0.2 FTE). The role is ideal for a collaborative and strategic physician leader with a passion for high-quality, patient-centered care. Key Responsibilities: Provide clinical leadership across multiple primary care locations Mentor and support teams of physicians and clinicians Develop and implement initiatives that improve quality, access, and outcomes Collaborate on organizational strategy and clinical innovation Participate in vacation coverage and on-call rotation (as needed) Qualifications: Board Certified in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Pediatrics Active Rhode Island MD/DO license (or ability to obtain) Minimum 5 years of clinical experience and 3+ years of physician leadership Skilled in using metrics and data to inform clinical decisions Strong communication, team-building, and coaching skills Ideal Candidate: Calm under pressure and adaptable in a changing healthcare landscape Demonstrates empathy, professionalism, and a sense of humor Strategic thinker with a collaborative leadership style Deep commitment to health equity and underserved populations Benefits Include: Competitive salary and bonus potential Full suite of health, dental, and vision benefits Generous PTO and holidays Retirement plans Loan repayment eligibility Opportunities for continued professional development
