General Description of the Position
The DE-CTR ACCEL program is a $25 million grant collaboration involving Delaware State University, the University of Delaware, Christiana Care, and Nemours/A.I. duPont Hospital for Children to promote clinical and translational research throughout Delaware. This position is 100% grant funded. The ACCEL Program Coordinator will work directly under the supervision of the ACCEL Principal Investigator in the Wesley College of Health and Behavioral Sciences (WCHBS) at Delaware State University to support the activities of the ACCEL program. The individual hired for this position will also have some responsibilities allocated to support WCHBS grant activities under the direction of the ACCEL PI as needed. Additionally, this position will oversee the tracking and evaluation core at DSU while maintaining close communication with the PI at Delaware State University. The individual will also support the ACCEL/RCMI Practice-Based Research Network. This role will lead program support and management for activities focused on clinical collaborative research initiatives addressing health disparities Essential Functions & Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Essential Functions: The following are the functions essential to performing this job: Serve as the first point of contact for individuals interested in applying for or getting additional information regarding opportunities in the ACCEL program. Manage budget tracking for all the different ACCEL components and assist Restricted Funds Accounting with documentation of spending. Manage budgets, purchase card records and requisitions for DSU ACCEL program. Maintain time & effort forms for ACCEL personnel. Work with UD and program personnel from collaborating ACCEL institutions to plan, prepare materials, and coordinate ACCEL-related meetings, symposia, seminars, and retreats. Assist with drafting agendas, taking notes, preparing and distributing minutes for meetings, and managing the day-to-day administrative activities of the program events and activities. Coordinate travel for ACCEL related conferences, professional meetings and workshops. Maintain a calendar of seminars and events at ACCEL collaborating institutions and DSU related to ACCEL. Responsible for administration of pilot research projects co-funded by DE-CTR ACCEL. Assist DSU faculty with ACCEL proposal submissions and grant management. Lead the tracking and evaluation core at Delaware State University and provide information on DSU research proposals, NIH reports, reports to UD budget, etc, as required by the DSU PI. Travel with the DSU PI or represent the DSU PI at ACCEL meetings at the collaborating institutions ( UD, Nemours, Christiana) as required by the DSU PI. Assist in tracking and assessing ACCEL cores and research projects and preparing the programs' annual reports. Provide program management and support services to investigators within the PBRN including (a) research assistance, (b) linkage to ACCEL/RCMI resources for project implementation, and (c) administrative support for meetings, communications, and events. Participate actively in development and strategic planning for the PBRN. Facilitate strategic planning between PBRN sites to implement collaborative research projects effectively. Foster a collaborative team environment with project partners such as primary care practices ( particularly Kent and Sussex), DE-CTR ACCEL, and RCMI partners. Assist in planning and implementing the PBRN Annual Retreat, including venue management, agenda setting, event registration, and evaluation. Manage budgets and requisitions for projects/grants affiliated with the PBRN network. Assist in WCHBS grant activities as and when required by ACCEL PI.

Excellent knowledge of finances and budgeting is required. Skilled administrative professional able to carry out varied grant mandated job responsibilities Strong verbal and written communication skills Good interpersonal and negotiation skills Well organized and detail-oriented approach Proficient in the use of MS Office (Word, Excel, Access) Excellent knowledge of sponsored projects processes and practices, and DSU software Banner 9, Blackboard, Argos, and Centre Suite is preferred Ability and willingness to learn new systems, techniques, and procedures Ability to provide grant administration training to onboarding staff Readily answerable and accessible to grant staff to update them with the status of the grant process Strong communication skills in interacting with persons of various social, cultural, economic and educational backgrounds. Strong organization and multi-tasking skills. Thorough knowledge of office methods, procedures, practices, and protocol. Demonstrated ability to operate a personal computer utilizing various word processing packages such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. for reports, graphs, mailings, and presentation development. Ability to simultaneously coordinate different administrative tasks, determine relative importance of each, set a deadline, and complete projects promptly. High level of attention to detail. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in oral, written, or diagram form. Demonstrated ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment and to coordinate participation of team members from various backgrounds. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Demonstrated ability to apply initiative in performing duties in various subjects, programs, or projects. Demonstrated program administration or project management experience with exceptional organizational and time management skills.
Qualification Standards
Master's degree or equivalent in a relevant field ( business administration, mathematics, social science, or related) will be preferred. Minimum of one year of relevant experience. Performance Standards & EEO Statement
