Job DetailsJob LocationSan Francisco, CASalary Range$285229.20 - $332260.24 SalaryDescriptionThe PACE Medical Director is responsible for the management and oversight of the physicians, advanced practice providers, pharmacists, and other staff assigned to his/her team. The PACE Medical Director oversees the clinical care provided by the NEMS PACE program and ensures quality clinical service delivery to PACE participants. The PACE Medical Director is also responsible for overseeing clinical service contracts for the PACE program.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Provides clinical leadership to the PACE program and participate in the development and implementation of the PACE program, including policies and procedures for clinical services and the quality improvement program (QI).Supervises clinical PACE staff, including physicians, advanced practice providers, and other members of the clinical team assigned to his/her supervision.Works jointly with the PACE Program Director to develop, implement, and update policies and procedures for the medical care of PACE participants.Provides direct primary clinical care, including oversight of inpatient management, assessments, and call coverage, which will be rotated with other physicians working in PACE, as well as leading the interdisciplinary team.Serves as a liaison between the program and the physician/provider community, including participation in regional or national geriatric societies.Reviews all appeals and grievances.Coordinates quality assurance activities including the development, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of a quality assurance plan for the program.Provides information and conduct presentations regarding the PACE program as requiredParticipates in the Quality Improvement Committee, Ethics Committee, and other work groups, as assigned.Utilizes Epic appropriately and efficiently and serve as content and workflow expert for resolving issues and proposing solutions in Epic.Performs other job duties as required by supervisor.ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:Provide primary medical care to all patients in accordance with the physician's medical specialty.Develops a plan of care for each patient, including: complete medical history, physical examination, diagnosis, appropriate treatment and/or referral, including hospitalization when necessary.Interacts with a wide range of healthcare and social services staff, working together as an interdisciplinary team.Works with the PACE Program Director in evaluating staffing needs as census changesEvaluates and assist in establishing contracts for a wide range of clinical services, including hospital, pharmacy, specialists, and nursing homes.Oversees the utilization of inpatient, pharmaceutical, specialty, and institutional long-term care services.Works independently and as an effective member of a team.Multi-tasks in projects and their respective activities, timelines, and issues.Utilizes computer and software tools.QUALIFICATIONS:Valid M.D. or D.O. license, in good standing, to practice medicine in the State of CaliforniaGraduate of an accredited School of MedicineMinimum two years of supervisory and administrative experience requiredMinimum two years of clinical experience requiredMinimum two years of experience working with elderly populationBoard certified Geriatrician strongly preferredKnowledge of geriatric medicine and special needs of complex geriatric patientsKnowledge of principles and practices of medical administrationCurrent BLS and First Aid required or must be obtained within 3 months of hire Well-versed in industry and professional standards of healthcare, utilization management, quality improvement, and other medical management functionsLANGUAGE:Must be able to fluently speak, read and write EnglishFluency in Chinese preferredSTATUS:This is an FLSA Exempt position.This is not an OSHA high-risk position.This is a Full Time position.NEMS is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer welcoming diversity in our workforce.
