About Our Client
Our client is a reputable, General Contractor in Kansas City. Founded 10+ years ago, they specialize in the multi-family, hospitality, retail, healthcare, and higher education project spaces. Due to growth in the pipeline, they are looking to bring on an experienced and dedicated Estimator to join the team. This individual will be essential to their work/projects across 35+ states!
Job Description
Conduct comprehensive reviews of essential construction documents, including plans, blueprints, technical drawings, and project specifications. Identify qualified suppliers and subcontractors, and request multiple bids for each work scope to ensure competitive pricing. Develop material take-offs to establish or verify accurate cost estimates. Evaluate prospective vendors, suppliers, and contractors for project suitability, and negotiate favorable pricing and terms. Analyze submitted bids for accuracy and completeness, compiling a detailed cost estimate encompassing materials, labor, equipment, and other necessary expenses. Collaborate with clients, architects, and engineers to gain a thorough understanding of the project's desired outcomes. Apply industry knowledge and professional judgment to select the most appropriate vendors, contractors, construction methods, and materials based on project requirements and specifications. Represent the company with professionalism and integrity in all communications, fostering positive relationships with potential clients and vendors. The Successful Applicant
Degree in Construction Management/Science (or related field) 5+ years of experience as an Estimator Experience with projects $20M+ Experience working on multi-family and/or hospitality projects Ability to handle multiple projects concurrently Skilled in reading, interpreting, and analyzing construction drawings and project specifications Capable of developing accurate cost estimates based on conceptual designs Experienced in using construction estimating and bidding software such as BuildingConnected, On-Screen Takeoff, and PlanSwift Familiarity with the ProCore project management platform is a plus Strong mathematical aptitude and analytical thinking abilities Excellent verbal and written communication skills What's on Offer
