Job Title: Messaging Engineer
Location: Hybrid - 2 days per week onsite
Preferred Locations: Walnut Creek, CA | Sacramento, CA | Dallas, TX
Note: Candidate must be located near one of the above offices to be onsite twice a week.
Duration: 3-6 Months (Contract-to-Hire)

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Messaging Engineer to design, implement, and support a secure and reliable Microsoft Exchange Online environment. The ideal candidate will also have familiarity with Microsoft Purview for enhanced compliance and data governance integration.
Key Responsibilities: Architect, monitor, and optimize Microsoft Exchange Online for peak performance. Ensure a secure, highly available messaging ecosystem across hybrid Exchange environments. Deploy, configure, and troubleshoot Exchange servers in hybrid configurations. Manage message delivery and resolve security or routing issues. Develop and execute PowerShell scripts to automate administrative functions. Migrate on-premises Public Folders, Shared Mailboxes, and Distribution Groups to Exchange Online or Microsoft 365 Groups. Provide advanced support for email and mobile device-related issues. Collaborate with Application Support teams on messaging and mobile challenges. Perform regular patching and updates on messaging infrastructure. Develop and maintain disaster recovery procedures for messaging systems. Leverage Microsoft Purview (if applicable) for data classification, cataloging, and compliance.
