Long-term Contract On-site - Foster City, CA U.S. Citizen or Green Card Required $47 - $54 hourly DOE / Full Benefits JOB DESCRIPTION - Additive Manufacturing Technician QUALA is seeking an Additive Manufacturing Technician for a long-term contract role working on-site in Foster City, CA. This is an exciting opportunity to work within an organization that is developing the first ground-up, fully autonomous vehicle and the supporting ecosystem required to bring this technology to market. They are transforming mobility-as-a-service by developing a fully autonomous, purpose-built fleet designed for AI to drive and humans to enjoy! What you will do: The mission of the XOPS R&D Prototype Fabrication team is to rapidly transform the highest-impact, most critical design concepts into physical parts and prototypes to enable early learnings and improved decision making; regularly exceeding our internal clients' expectations on lead time, quality and cost. This individual will be responsible for ensuring the AM lab is able to deliver high-quality 3D printed and Laser Cut parts and assemblies to our engineers. Their daily responsibilities will include post-processing of parts, setting up builds on the additive machines, performing scheduled maintenance, and general lab upkeep. A Candidate for this role does not need to have a background in AM (although it is a bonus). The ideal candidate will have a strong desire to learn, is self-motivated and highly organized. Responsibilities Pre-processing of parts - setting up builds using several different software suites Post-processing parts from extrusion (FDM, FFF), photopolymerization (SLA), powder bed fusion (SLS, MJF), Material Jetting (Polyjet), and CO2 laser cutting Develop and modify digital models of components and fixtures using Computer Aided Design (CAD) as required. Assembly and finishing of parts Daily, weekly and monthly maintenance of machines and ancillary equipment Updating and closing Additive Manufacturing JIRA requests, including clear communication with the team and internal clients. Qualifications Highly organized and able to jump from task to task quickly Strong communication skills CAD software (Solidworks, Autodesk Fusion, Rhino3D, CATIA/3DX) Experience using professional Additive Manufacturing machines (Stratasys, 3D Systems, etc.) in addition to prosumer machines Can-do attitude coupled with a strong understanding of the role of prototypes and prototyping in a professional setting Bonus Qualifications Machine and Fabrication shop experience JIRA, Confluence Exposure to mold and model making
