The Electro Mechanical Technician (EMT) performs both mechanical and electrical maintenance duties including: pipe fitting, welding, machining, hydraulics, instrumentation, working with sheet metal, as well as troubleshooting, replacing, repairing, and cleaning systems, equipment, and/or component parts utilizing industry standards for precision maintenance.Principal Duties and Responsibilities:65% of time spent performing mechanical troubleshooting and repairs as necessary - pipe fitting, welding, machining, hydraulics, pneumatics, and working with sheet metal.20% of time spent performing electrical and controls troubleshooting and repairs as necessary to support continued operation of the process including instrumentation, controls, motors, VFD's, PLC's, HMI's and basic electrical work.10% Special projects and/or equipment improvements5% Participation in safety programs, TPM teams, and PM optimizationComply with all plant rules and corporate policies with regard to business conduct.Comply with safety regulations and maintain a clean and orderly work area.Regular attendance on site and ability to rotate varying shiftsAll other job classification relative duties as assigned or neededSKILLS AND ABILITIESThe employee should have experience in and be able to demonstrate the following abilities:Excellent mechanical and electrical troubleshooting capabilityAble to demonstrate competency in precision maintenance techniquesAble to identify, recommend and implement reliability and safety improvements to equipment Properly and safely use hand and shop tools and equipment Good written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work with others.Familiar with HMIs, PLCs, and Servos.Be able to read and write mechanical and electrical work instructions and/or blueprints Able to follow written and verbal work instructionsProvide valid proof of authorization to work in the U.S.COMPUTER AND SOFTWARE COMPENTENCIESThe employee must be able to:Demonstrate proficiency with computers - Microsoft Office Suite and other programs as required.Must be able to log into and navigate SAP for work notificationsMay be required to work on control systems that run the line (PLC, Allen Bradley)EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCEThe employee should have the following:High School Diploma or GED equivalencyAbility to pass maintenance skill testESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENTThe employee should possess the ability to:Ability to routinely lift up to 40 lbs without assistanceAbility to routinely lift up to 80 lbs with assistanceWork for up to 12 hours in extreme hot/cold manufacturing environmentWalk/stand on concrete floors continuously for up to 12 hours-continuousAscend and descend stairs to enter most areas of the facility-continuousAbility to work in cramped areas and enter confined spaces-frequentlyAbility to work at heights - frequentlySafeguard self with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) - steel toed shoes, eye protection (glasses, goggles, and/or facemask) as necessary for taskRegular attendance onsite and ability to rotate and work shift work
