The Clerical/Receptionist performs secretarial work of a confidential nature and relieves supervisors of minor executive duties. Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities

Receptionist Duties: Develops and maintains a good working rapport with inter-department staff, and other departments within the facility to assure that administrative services and activities can be properly maintained to meet the needs of the facility. Completes required reports, forms, etc., for the administrator as requested. Maintains confidentiality for all resident, administrative, and corporate information. Assist business office and staff. Assures that the administrative offices are maintained in a clean and safe manner and that equipment and supplies are also maintained. Unit Clerk Duties:

Fills and delivers routine and emergency requisitions from nursing and other departments for supplies and equipment in accordance with established policies and procedures. Receives incoming shipments and checks incoming merchandise against packing slips and purchase orders in accordance with policies and procedures. Organizes the storage of supplies and equipment inventory in a safe, clean, and orderly manner to ensure efficient handling and to prevent deterioration and in accordance with policies and procedures. Picks up and delivers mail and performs messenger service for facility as directed. Follows all safety procedures when handling supplies and equipment Ensures all purchase orders are properly prepared, signed, and submitted as required in policies and procedures. Ensures that work areas are clean and free of hazards. Also that all safety rules and regulations are adhered to. Ensures defective equipment is identified for repair in accordance with policies and procedures. Other Duties

Receptionist Duties: Interacts with customers, families, visitors, facility and corporate staff. Carries out other tasks as requested in situations where hands-on intervention/participation may be required. Must practice good person hygiene and follow dress code requirements. Must provide annual Verification of negative TB skin test as required. Unit Clerk Duties:

Assists department staff in identifying and correcting problem areas and improving services. May be required to perform autoclave duties. Attend and participate in in-service education classes and on-the-job training programs as required. Interacts with facility staff. Performs other tasks as requested in situations where hands-on intervention/participation may be required. May be required to work rotating shifts, holidays, weekends, additional hours, an din different positions as facility's needs require. Qualifications High school degree or equivalent with business curriculum required. Typing, filing, correspondence composition and computer skills required. Must possess strong organizational skills. Must possess the ability to handle a variety of assignments, some of moderate complexity and requiring considerable familiarity with the operating details of the facility. Must possess the ability to interpret and apply departmental procedures. Must have strong, positive interpersonal skills. Must demonstrate discretion in handling of confidential information. Must have a sense of accountability and responsibility. Must possess the ability to form independent decisions in absence of supervisor.
