DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
Set up and calibrate nondestructive testing equipment. Conduct tests to ensure quality or detect defects using NDT methods of inspection. Establish techniques for proper examination of objects under inspection, ensuring strict adherence to safety regulations. Apply testing criteria in accordance with applicable specifications or standards and evaluate results. Interpret radiographs, conductivity meters and visual indicators. Organize and report test results. Perform specialized inspections. Provide on-the-job guidance to Level I Technicians, Trainees, and Assistants. Perform other job-related tasks as assigned by management. QUALIFICATIONS:
General Requirements (NAS 410 COMPLIANT)
Must provide documented evidence of prior certification at time of hire. Must demonstrate ability to perform inspections independently, interpret results, and document findings. Must be thoroughly familiar with the scope and limitations of the NDT methods and techniques used. Must be able to conduct system performance checks and apply appropriate acceptance criteria. Must be capable of developing work instructions from approved general procedures, subject to Level III approval. Must be familiar with relevant codes, standards, and product/process knowledge. Level II-Limited (Composites Only)
Authorized to perform specific NDT tests on composite materials only. May accept/reject predetermined hardware as authorized by the Quality Manager and Responsible Level III. Provides the necessary guidance and/or supervision to trainees and Level I personnel within scope of certification. Level II (Full Certification)
Fully qualified to perform inspections, interpret results, and make acceptance decisions without limitation. Provides the necessary guidance and/or supervision to trainees and Level I personnel. Expected to have a basic understanding of relevant manufacturing and inspection technologies. EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:
1-2 years of experience as a certified Level II NDT Technician or equivalent experience in a related field High School Diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred. Demonstrated ability to perform inspections and interpret results effectively. ELIGIBILITY:
Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident). NDT Level II Certification in Radiography (RT) is required. Must provide documented evidence of prior NDT certifications at time of hire. Additional certifications in Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), and Penetrant. Testing (PT) are a plus. Must meet NAS 410 requirements PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Standing, walking, and/or sitting for extended periods (8+ hours). Dexterity in hands, arms, and fingers for operating computers and equipment. Visual acuity (including color vision) at 20 inches or less; corrective lenses permitted. Frequent repetitive movement, grasping, reaching overhead and below shoulder level. Occasional lifting or carrying of up to 50 lbs, minimum 35 lbs. Occasional team lifting up to 100lbs. WORK ENVIRONMENT
Shop, warehouse, and/or manufacturing environment with moderate noise and exposure to equipment. TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
