Primary Purpose: The primary purpose of a

CNP Driver

is to ensure the safe and efficient transportation of food and related supplies to various school locations, enabling the successful operation of the school child nutrition program. This role plays a critical part in delivering nutritious meals to scholars and staff, while maintaining compliance with regulations and safety standards.

Duties/Responsibilities: o Assists in preparing orders for the purpose of delivering orders to vended kitchens. o Assists in receiving stock and non-stock items for the purpose of ensuring specifications, quantity and quality of orders are correct. o Load food carrier (Cambro) with prepared meals into vehicle for delivery; unload and transport food carrier to vended kitchens. o Drive delivery vehicles (food, supplies, and materials) for the purpose of transporting to designated areas in a timely manner. Ensure temperatures of food remain at optimal levels. o Assist in cleaning and organizing food, and equipment (rotating stock) managing inventory o Prepare quality food according to planned menu and recipes o Serve food according to meal schedules and food safety policies and procedures. o Store and handle food items and supplies according to policies and procedures. o Maintain the highest standards of safety and cleanliness in the kitchen. o Operate tools and equipment according to safety standards and follow established policies and procedures to meet high standards of cleanliness, health and safety. o Keep garbage collection containers and areas neat and sanitary. o Follow all industry standard guidelines for food safety and sanitation o Maintain good personal appearance and hygiene according to Food safety policies and procedures. o Always adhere to professional conduct o Ensure counting and claiming process are followed according to USDA/TDA guidelines. o Handle and record cashier functions accurately and timely o Help Record and Maintain daily food production worksheet, daily delivery receipt o Promote teamwork and interaction with fellow staff members o Complete annual continuing education and training. o Attend monthly meetings o Complete assignments in a timely, efficient manner. o Assist in the daily clean-up of the kitchen area and equipment. o Assist in the major cleaning of refrigerators, freezer, and storage areas at regular scheduled intervals. o If assigned, carry out other specific kitchen tasks (e.g. dishwasher, cashier, cleaning, and push meals to other areas of school etc.) o Provide courteous and professional demeanor when interacting with scholars and staff. o Assists other personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities. o Conduct daily vehicle safety inspections, refuel as needed, and report required maintenance or malfunctions promptly in accordance with Department of Transportation and internal fleet safety guidelines. to and from central kitchen, obeying traffic laws and observing defensive driving practices; and or report any problems for maintaining vehicle in safe operating condition.

Qualifications: Education, Experience, and/or Certification(s) •

Education Requirements:

High School diploma or general education diploma (GED) preferred; may substitute equivalent work experience for diploma preference. •

Experience Requirements:

Previous driving experience with a company vehicle preferred. •

Special Skills/Certifications:

Must possess a valid Texas driver's license before employment, with clean driving record. Keep your driver's license current and do not let renewal lapse. Capable of operating motorized vehicles safely. Ability to possess current Food Handler Permit 5 days before employment, Ability to understand food preparation and safety instructions. Knowledge of kitchen equipment and food production procedures. Capable of operating small and large kitchen equipment and tools.

Required Skills/Abilities: •

Communication Skills:

Ability to communicate with all levels of personnel, students, and parents. •

Bilingual Skills : Ability to read, analyze, and apply understand and to carry out instructions in written or oral English. •

Technology : To perform this job successfully, an individual should have the ability to learn and use software as necessary (POS, clock in and out etc.). Ability to use basic office equipment. Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations.

• Other Qualifications:

Criminal records check, pre-hire and annually thereafter, if applicable. Must be able to pass the MVR Must be eligible to work in the United States and provide work authorization.

Starting Pay:

$18.00

Work Environment:

The work environment is representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The environment requires proximity to other employees, frequent interruptions, extended periods of time viewing a computer screen and standing, and noise levels from moderate to high. There may be activity from other employees and students of a distracting nature.
