IBM Sterling Engineer
to join our team and help develop and maintain robust, high-volume order fulfillment solutions in the eCommerce space. If you have deep technical experience with the
IBM Sterling Order Management Suite

Key Responsibilities:
Design, configure, and customize IBM Sterling OMS to support dynamic order lifecycle and fulfilment processes. Develop enhancements using Java, J2EE, and XML technologies within Sterling's architecture. Integrate Sterling OMS with external systems like ERP, CRM, WMS, and third-party logistics using REST/SOAP APIs. Implement and optimize order routing, sourcing rules, and inventory visibility strategies. Troubleshoot OMS production issues and provide timely resolution in high-pressure eCommerce environments. Participate in Agile ceremonies and collaborate closely with business analysts, QA, and DevOps teams. Lead or support Sterling OMS upgrades, patches, and performance tuning initiatives. Develop and maintain technical documentation, including solution designs, configuration, and code changes.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
7+ years of experience in high-traffic
eCommerce
or
retail
systems. 4-5 years of hands-on experience in
IBM Sterling Order Management System (OMS)
development and configuration. Proficiency in
Java, J2EE, XML, XSLT, and JavaScript
within the Sterling ecosystem. Strong understanding of order orchestration, sourcing, payment processing, and shipment workflows. Familiarity with
Sterling APIs , user exits, process modelling, and pipeline configurations. Experience integrating OMS with external systems via
REST/SOAP ,
MQ , or
middleware tools . Working knowledge of relational databases like
Oracle or DB2 . Experience in Agile development processes and tools like
Jira ,
Confluence ,
Git , and
Jenkins . Exposure to
cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
and DevOps principles is a plus. Familiarity with observability tools like
Splunk, Dynatrace, or AppDynamics
is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
IBM Sterling OMS certification(s) (if any). Experience in PCI-compliant environments. Knowledge of microservices-based architecture and headless commerce platforms.
