Job description

Zev Technologies is seeking a highly detail-oriented Quality Inspector/ Metrologist with CMM programming experience to join our team. Our company is a high quality, high precision production machine shop manufacturing firearms and components in aluminum and hard metals utilizing industry leading manufacturing technology. Qualifications/Requirements: Inspects and approves incoming materials by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, and rejecting and returning unacceptable materials. Inspects and approves incoming finished products by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, and communicating with Upper Management for any and all products that do not meet or exceed our standards. Read/ Interpret drawings, plans, and specifications to understand the requirements of products and services. Proficient with/ in solidworks, must be able to look through models etc.. CMM Programming for Wenzel & Zeiss. (Open DMIS, PC-DMIS, Calypso) Experience with/ in a CMM Manager software/ system. Inspects in-process production by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, examine functionality test, communicating required adjustments to production supervisor and/ or operators. Approves finished products by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, returning products for re-work, and confirming re-work. Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs, summarizes re-work and waste, and inputs data into quality database. Keeps measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions and calibration requirements and calling for repairs. Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading technical publications. Resolve quality-related issues in a timely manner. Teach the production team about quality control concerns to improve product excellence. Quality Inspector

Qualifications/Skills:

Written and verbal communication skills. Excellent math and measuring skills. Utilizes the manufacturing computer system to accurately enter part transfers, scrap and any other transactions necessary to maintain accurate and timely records and basic departmental functions. Attention to detail. Analytic skills. Proficient in the use of precision inspection equipment tools such as micrometers, calipers, CMM's, height gages, optical comparators etc. Documents data obtained during all quality inspection activities, consistent with company policies and procedures. Solid foundation of GD&T. Must have a working knowledge of geometric tolerancing. 1-2 years Quality Control inspection in a precision manufacturing environment preferred. Military/Defense/Small Arms QC experience is beneficial. Maintains a positive and respectful attitude: cooperates with co-workers, management, internal and external customers, as applicable. Willingly accepts responsibility of sharing skills and knowledge with other employees. Maintains good attendance and punctuality and an acceptable level of job performance. Team Player.
