POSITION TITLE: Bilingual Program Coordinator - 12 Month Position
RECRUITED BY: Director, Bilingual Services Department
IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Director, Bilingual Services Department
POSITION SUMMARY:
Serve as assistant to the Director. Responsible for assisting with grant implementation and oversight. Assist in staff professional development. Assist in the implementation and interpretation of student test results and other data. Assist in the development and implementation of the summer school program. Provide a variety of services for the Bilingual Services Department through planning, supervising and coordinating implementation of various department initiatives.
MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in Education or Data Analytics or related field
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Must be fluent in English with excellent oral communication and written communication skills in both languages; prefer bilingual English/Spanish or English/other language
Above average ability to disaggregate and analyze data; excellent use of Google/Excel spreadsheets and PowerSchool
Able to work with groups providing leadership and resource consultation
Strong interpersonal skills to successfully work with a variety of people
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist in analyzing student data in order to meet departmental performance goals
Interpret test results with students, and parents (WIDA ACCESS, IREAD3, PSAT, ILEARN, Career Pathways, etc.)
Assist in developing, distributing, and explaining Individual Learning Plans (ILPs), Good Cause Exemptions for IREAD3
Assist in developing and implementing professional development in-service programs for certified and non-certified staff
Assist in the preparation of the Annual Performance Reports for grant sources
Act as Corporation leader for WIDA ACCESS during the testing window
Assist with decisions on exiting students from EL program
Assist with monitoring bilingual education specialists
Assist with ML student placements for various corporation programs (magnet, traditional, academies)
Coordinate workshops for teachers and Education Specialists on interpreting WIDA ACCESS tests results
Supervise 1 & 2 Year Monitoring Plans
Advise students and parents about post-secondary opportunities, degrees, costs, financial aid, majors, etc.
Notify parents of ML students regarding automatic placement for Intermediate/High School (4th to 5th grade and 8th to 9th grade)
Assist in planning parent meetings on codes of conduct, uniform policies, magnet schools, graduation requirements, State standardized tests and academic standards
Support the development, implementation, and administration of EL summer school programming (facilities, transportation, curriculum, field trips, materials)
Assist parents with transportation change requests, discipline issues, school change requests, explanation of student grades, assessment results, and academic progress as needed
Interpret at Special Education and MTSS case conferences and parent/teacher conferences as needed
Coordinate all logistics and monitor After School Programs for ML students
Coordinate all logistics and monitor all ML tutors
Assist with logistics and monitoring of all grant project initiatives and outcomes (Title III, DLI, NESP, etc.)
Assist with duties as assigned

Is sensitive to the needs of ML students and their families
Maintains confidentiality about student and family information
Has consistent daily attendance and follows procedures for reporting absences
Reports for work on time
Uses time constructively
Works cooperatively with other BSD/MRSC and building staff

Accepts direction and constructive criticism in a positive manner
Displays appropriate initiative and self-direction with minimal supervision

The position requires a flexible scheduling of work responsibilities and, at times, evening work.
