Overview St. Joseph’s Recovery, a division of CommonSpirit Health, is launching a groundbreaking Adult Recovery Program designed to provide trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and family-centered care.

Licensed Counselors at St. Joseph’s Recovery provide evidence-based individual and group counseling services to adults in our trauma-informed intensive outpatient program (IOP). This role supports long-term recovery by delivering personalized treatment, engaging families, and collaborating across disciplines to ensure comprehensive client care.

Responsibilities

Conduct clinical intake assessments using ASAM criteria to determine the appropriate level of care

Develop individualized, strengths-based treatment plans in collaboration with clients

Provide weekly individual and group therapy using evidence-based approaches including CRA, CBT, and MI

Facilitate specialized group sessions including parenting education, relapse prevention, and recovery-focused support

Encourage 12-Step recovery participation and facilitate or refer to Al-Anon-informed groups

Maintain clinical documentation (progress notes, treatment plans, discharge summaries) in compliance with Medicaid, NMAC, and regulatory standards

Coordinate care with case managers, peer support specialists, and external community providers

Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or related behavioral health field Experience:

Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in substance use, co-occurring disorders, or behavioral health treatment Licensure:

LADAC or LSAA requiredLPCC, LMSW, LMHC, or LISW in good standing with the New Mexico licensing board Knowledge & Skills:

Strong understanding of ASAM criteria and Medicaid documentation standards

Proficient in clinical assessment, group facilitation, and trauma-informed care

Collaborative and client-focused communication

Preferred

Bilingual (English/Spanish); familiarity with parenting models and recovery-oriented frameworks
