Job Summary:
The Quality Control Inspector performs detailed inspections related to aircraft maintenance, modifications, and material/parts receiving to ensure full compliance with specifications, processes, and regulatory directives. This role includes reviewing maintenance and inspection documentation for accuracy, generating and tracking quality assurance records, and supporting overall compliance with customer and company policies.
Key Responsibilities: Conduct quality control inspections on aircraft maintenance, preventative maintenance, repairs, and modifications to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and standards. Apply technical knowledge in mechanics, hydraulics, electricity, sheet metal, rigging, instruments, and test flights to evaluate safety, airworthiness, and document sign-off. Review and verify paperwork to ensure all maintenance and inspection work is properly documented, completed, and filed in line with customer and company standards. Interpret and check prints, engineering change orders, and regulatory procedures/specifications in both hard copy and electronic formats. Perform receiving inspections on materials and parts, verifying conformity to blueprints and contract requirements. Utilize precision measuring tools, gauges, and laboratory instruments accurately. Adhere to OSHA and company safety procedures at all times. Perform other duties as assigned to support the maintenance and quality control functions.
Required Qualifications: Minimum of 5 years recent applicable aircraft maintenance experience. High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Broad working knowledge of aircraft maintenance, FAA regulations, inspection techniques, and technical publications. Ability to read, interpret, and comprehend schematic diagrams, drawings, charts, and technical manuals. Proficient in the use of aircraft-specific tools such as torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, cable tensiometers, sheet metal brakes, and shears. Ability to prioritize workload and manage multiple projects to meet deadlines. Basic computer skills for data entry and use of maintenance/logistics databases. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Physical ability to perform tasks requiring standing, walking, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and working on ladders or maintenance stands.
Preferred Qualifications: Additional certifications or training related to quality control or aircraft maintenance (if applicable). Experience with quality assurance documentation and compliance tracking systems.
