Your mission

As our On-Premises DevOps Engineer, you will be the cornerstone of our technical infrastructure, ensuring the reliability, security, and efficiency of our on-premises systems. You'll bridge the gap between development and operations, implementing automation to streamline workflows while maintaining robust security protocols. Your expertise will help us build resilient systems that support our business goals while minimizing downtime and optimizing performance.

Your profile

Key Responsibilities Design, implement, and maintain secure network infrastructure, including firewall configuration and management Provide multi-tiered technical support (1st, 2nd, and 3rd layer) for infrastructure-related issues Deploy and manage virtualization and containerization platforms to optimize resource utilization Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices to ensure consistent, reproducible infrastructure deployments Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate software delivery processes Administer Linux servers and ensure their security, performance, and availability Configure and optimize reverse proxy solutions for our web applications Manage NAS systems for reliable data storage and backup solutions Implement comprehensive logging, monitoring, and alerting systems to ensure infrastructure health Collaborate with development teams to improve system reliability and performance Document infrastructure components, configurations, and operational procedures Stay current with industry trends and recommend infrastructure improvements Skills and Experience Proven experience with network security, specifically Fortinet firewall configuration and management Strong knowledge of network infrastructure and protocols (AOS-CX, TCP/IP, VLANs) Experience with virtualization and containerization technologies (Proxmox, Docker, Docker Swarm) Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools (Ansible, Terraform) Experience implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, particularly with GitLab CI/CD Strong Linux server administration skills, especially with Ubuntu Experience configuring reverse proxies like Nginx and Traefik Knowledge of NAS management, particularly TrueNAS Experience with log management and analysis using the Elastic Stack Proficiency with monitoring tools such as Zabbix, Grafana, and Prometheus Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure Strong communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team We are looking for someone based in Hamburg or willing to relocate to Hamburg
