Position Available - Production Underwriter
Will be responsible for using analytical and sales skills to ensure the profitable growth of their assigned book of business. Production underwriters will act as a leader on the underwriting team, mentoring and supporting other underwriters in their growth. An ability to understand conceptually and think critically about business problems is paramount.
Job Functions and Responsibilities
Agency/Broker Management - Develop and strengthen producer relationships among assigned agencies. Solicit business that fits company underwriting guidelines. Risk Selection - Analyze, price and make decisions within underwriting authority. Portfolio Management - Monitor changes that could potentially impact eligibility or profitability of individual and proactively manage to ensure the overall performance of the book. Leadership - Guide and mentor other underwriters in both their professional and technical skills. Market Positioning - Gather market intelligence and make recommendations to ensure we remain competitive and meet the needs of our agents and insureds. Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree 5+ years of property/casualty underwriting experience Minimum 25% travel Strong attention to detail Excellent organizational skills. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Understanding of insurance principles, state regulations and compliance.
