Summary:

Our client, The Global Leader in Technology is seeking an experienced

Project Manager

to oversee the successful execution of substation and electrical system initiatives in large-scale, complex environments such as data centers. This role requires a unique balance of field execution, stakeholder engagement, and deep technical knowledge of utility-grade infrastructure. The ideal candidate brings at least

5 years of hands-on experience

in

substation design, transmission systems

, and

construction management

, preferably within a

consulting engineering or large utility environment

.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Execution (50% Field-Based):

Oversee and ensure the successful implementation of substations and transmission systems across project sites.

Collaborate with field teams, contractors, and stakeholders to troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical infrastructure issues in real time.

Monitor field progress and quality assurance to ensure alignment with engineering designs and performance expectations.

Stakeholder Engagement (50% Meetings & Communication):

Lead weekly team meetings, daily stand-ups, and status updates with internal teams, General Contractors (GCs), and external partners.

Educate stakeholders on new initiatives, systems, or changes impacting transmission and substation performance.

Provide clear technical guidance and act as a subject matter expert for electrical systems.

Project Management & Coordination:

Manage schedules, risks, deliverables, and budgets to ensure projects meet key milestones.

Align cross-functional teams toward execution goals and manage resources within a complex matrix organization.

Contribute to process improvements, operational efficiency, and change management initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related technical field OR 5+ years of equivalent hands-on experience in

substation design

and/or

delivery

5+ years

of relevant experience in:

Substation & Transmission Engineering

Construction/Field Project Management

Electrical Infrastructure Projects in Large-Scale Environments (e.g., Data Centers)

Strong understanding of utility electrical systems, regulatory requirements, and safety standards

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Demonstrated ability to lead engineering teams in high-pressure environments

Experience with project tracking tools and reporting metrics

Preferred Qualifications:

Licensed

Professional Engineer (PE)

or pursuing licensure

Prior experience in

electrical engineering consulting

or working for large

utility-scale organizations

Experience in

change management

and driving adoption of new operational procedures

Strong organizational skills and ability to operate in a fast-paced, matrixed environment

Familiarity with electrical codes, commissioning processes, and construction documentation
