Primary Purpose
The Transmission Projects & Programs team at ComEd is dedicated to strengthening and expanding the high-voltage transmission system that powers our region. We enable the safe, reliable, and efficient delivery of electricity to communities and businesses supporting the evolving needs of our customers and the broader energy landscape.
Our work includes:
System Expansion & Resiliency: Delivering projects that reinforce and modernize the grid to improve reliability and withstand extreme weather events
Customer Service Connections: Integrating large commercial and industrial customers into the high-voltage transmission system
Transmission Interconnections: Enabling customer-owned renewable generation projects - including solar, wind, battery storage into the ComEd transmission network
Together, these efforts help build a more flexible, sustainable, and future-ready energy infrastructure.
Position may be required to work extended hours for coverage during storms or other energy delivery emergencies.
Primary Duties
Lead and be accountable for the overall execution of major infrastructure and organizational projects
Manage project cost, schedule, and scope, including developing recovery plans when needed
Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders to coordinate project goals and requirements
Communicate effectively with executive sponsors and cross-functional teams through presentations and reports
Guide cross-functional teams and promote a collaborative environment across departments
Coach and support team members to deliver assigned tasks and meet project milestones
Identify and secure appropriate project resources
Ensure all team members are aligned on roles and responsibilities
Oversee a wide range of tasks such as:
Project scheduling and financial analysis
Requirements engineering and design reviews
Environmental reviews and vegetation management
Procurement of major equipment
Property acquisition, permitting, and regulatory coordination
Quality assurance and change management processes
Job Scope
As a Project Manager, you will lead complex transmission, substation, and organizational projects from initiation through closeout. You'll be responsible for planning, executing, and reporting on project performance-ensuring projects stay on budget, on time, and within scope.
This role serves as a key liaison between internal and external stakeholders, including senior management, customers, vendors, townships, and regulatory authorities. You'll coach team members, manage risks, and make a visible impact on critical infrastructure initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications
For construction project management: Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field and 4-7 years relevant project management or related experience, OR High School Diploma and 6-9 years of relevant project management or related experience
For non-construction project management: Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or related field and 4-7 years relevant project management or related experience, OR High School Diploma and 6-9 years of relevant project management or related experience
Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) or achieve CAPM within two years of job entry (PMP certification will fulfill this requirement)
Demonstrated and documented success at managing projects
Ability to work independently and as a team leader including the ability to handle conflicting priorities in a multi task environment
Demonstrated strong independent judgment skills
Demonstrated strong interpersonal and time management skills
Valid driver's license and access to an automobile
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in engineering (or advanced technical degree) or Business Administration
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or Professional Engineer License
Experience or knowledge of the specific functional area or discipline (e.g., Utility design/planning/construction or Information Technology experience)

Annual salary will vary based on a candidate's skills, qualifications, experience, and other factors: $97,600.00/Yr. - $134,200.00/Yr.
