Convergint is looking for a full-time, enthusiastic, results-driven, and forward-thinking Solutions Architect to join our amazing culture. In this role, you will provide pre-sales design support, consultative designs services and cost estimates for large-scale, complex, and specialized projects in the Utilities Vertical and other highly regulated environments such as UL2050 and defense projects. As a Solutions Architect, you will play a critical role in delivering accurate, high-value proposals and security designs that meet the unique demands of enterprise-level projects.

What you’ll do with “Our Training and Your Experience”

Creates and documents customer specific security standards, design guides, templates and folders in order to facilitate the design engineering of projects for customers and in order to enable our CTCs and our regional design teams.

Acts as a technical resource and support to sales executives including attending presentations to the customer and pre booking meetings.

Carry out in-depth analysis of plans, functional specifications and contracts in order to determine and advise on overall project requirements

Provides electronic security consultative and system design services including onsite security assessment and analysis of customer facilities when appropriate to develop security applications and standards

Prepare detailed, comprehensive cost estimates for large-scale and highly complex projects, including data centers, global enterprise installations, and regulated environments (e.g., UL2050, defense, and government)

Analyze project specifications, blueprints, and RFPs to develop highly accurate and competitive proposals

Collaborate closely with sales, engineering, procurement, and operations to align estimates with project scope, technical requirements, and timelines

Source and manage pricing from specialized vendors, subcontractors, and partners to ensure compliance with project standards and regulations

Identify project risks, special handling requirements, and potential solutions to address regulatory and customer expectations

Lead the estimating and design process for strategic, mission-critical, or global opportunities

Using technical knowledge, skills and experience, acts as mentor and provides training for less experienced staff. Provides performance feedback to management regarding project designers. Transfers knowledge and expertise to other colleagues.

Participate in client meetings and presentations to clarify project scope and value proposition

Work with installation teams to ensure feasibility and accuracy of estimates

Apply industry knowledge of regulations and compliance requirements

Track project costs, potential risks, and margins to optimize pricing strategies

Stay updated on security technology, industry standards, and product pricing

Ensure estimates align with company pricing strategies and market competitiveness

Prepare and present accurate proposals to internal and external customers

Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested or required

Experience

Required

5-7 years: Excellent AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint skills

7-10 years: Expertise in access control, CCTV, and physical security systems, with a focus on large-scale enterprise and utility vertical facilities and deployments
